Ethan Wickman - Composer / Glen Nelson - Librettist
Commissioned by AFCO

Don't miss the world premiere of Ethan Wickman and Glen Nelson's moving and powerful oratorio "To a Village Called Emmaus."  Conducted by Music Director Craig Jessop, and featuring a stellar cast of soloists, the concert also includes Gustav Mahler’s “Finale” from Symphony No. 2, The Resurrection.

Commissioned by AFCO, the new work tells the compelling story of events in the week after Christ's resurrection. The text draws from the Gospel of St. Luke, using multiple translations and original poetry to embrace many faith traditions.  The audience will join with the unwitting disciples as they discover the origins and identity of their divine fellow traveler.
