The American Festival Chorus and Orchestra is thrilled to bring audiences a program celebrating the glory of one of the world's great composers of the 20th century - Sergei Rachmaninoff - in the sesquicentennial of his birth. The concert includes some of his most beloved choral and piano compositions, including movements from the famed All Night Vigil, Op. 37.

The All Night Vigil, Op. 37 has been praised as Rachmaninoff's finest achievement, and the "greatest musical achievement of the Eastern Orthodox Church," featuring fifteen movements of liturgical text settings from Orthodox vespers, chants, and other worship services.

We are delighted to feature the following faculty members from the Caine College of Arts as special guests for this concert:

  • Kevin Olsen, piano
  • Cahill Smith, piano
  • Sasha Kasman Laude, piano
  • Mayumi Matzen, piano
  • Cory Evans, tenor
  • Anne Francis Bayless, cello
